A well tested and robust
25 kW household wind turbine

Viking 25 is the first in the series of Viking household wind turbines. The turbine was constructed in 2009 and has since then been tested in Denmark with the largest number of wind turbines in operation at that time. The turbine has with great conviction verified its strength during severe storms and without any accidents.

The turbine is the best tested turbine as it for a number of years was the most sold household wind turbine in its class in Denmark. Its popularity means that the turbine has been installed and tested throughout the entire country (including some locations abroad) and during very different wind and weather conditions. The new variant – Viking VS – has taken over a part of the market for household wind turbines, but Viking 25 is still a strong alternative.

The wind turbine is constructed to fulfil international standards and is delivered with a 2 year warranty on all components. The turbine has a long lifetime as we, at strategic points in the production process, have chosen to use larger safety factors and more conservative calculations on various components compared to the large MW wind turbines and some new types of household wind turbines. The turbine will probably at most locations have a lifetime which exceeds 20-25 years.

Viking 25 is developed based on the robust and illustrious Danish concept, which stands behind the success that the entire wind turbine industry in Denmark has experienced worldwide. This means among other things that the turbine has three blades and looks like a ”real” wind turbine with the same beautiful appearance as the large MW wind turbines. This means that the turbine becomes a more natural part of the scenery and is constructed according to the same well tested principles as the large wind turbines.

Easy and Cost Effective Installation and Maintenance

Great savings can be achieved on installation and maintenance of the Viking wind turbines. No crane is needed, when erecting the wind turbine. A simple winch can do the job – and everything can be attended to at ground level. Viking household wind turbine is based on functional Danish Design.

Brake System with extra Security

The Viking 25 household wind turbine is equipped with two independent brake systems. During normal use the household wind turbine will use the electromechanical brake system. Furthermore the Viking 25 is equipped with an aerodynamic brake system, which consists of three independent brakes at each blade end. The aerodynamic brake system is an additional security, which prevents the rotor from bolting.

This provides maximal security during unpredictable weather conditions.

Viking household wind turbine is true Danish Design. With three blades it is just as aesthetic as the large MW wind turbines.

Service and maintenance is carried out while the turbine is at ground level. It is never necessary to climb the tower. Both independent brake systems are ”fail safe”.
