Viking Wind receives a nomination for the SDG Tech award 2021

28/10/2021

VIKING WIND has been nominated for the SDG Tech Award 2021 event. The nomination is based on “your impressive innovation of green technologies”

Since Viking Wind fulfill three of the SDGs (United Nations sustainable development goals) – 7, 9, and 13, it seems like an apt nomination and a welcome recognition of a small company.

The SDG Tech Awards is an annual celebration of sustainable technologies gathering startups, SMEs, and corporations to form a cross-sector community of like-minded companies. It is not just an award show that celebrates and provides a platform for green technologies, but a multi-phase program that connects these action-taking members of the community to facilitate the green transition.

So even if you don’t win the SDG award there are other benefits to gain from the nomination:

First, it is a great honor to be nominated for an event that is the largest sustainability award in the Nordics and a tandem event to COP26, in a time where climate changes are on top of the agenda of all world leaders. And being the largest award show of its kind in Scandinavia, a nomination will generate goodwill that cannot be bought. It also gives recognition and awareness among peers and stakeholders – another thing that’s very valuable in the striving business of small wind turbines.

The goal of the SDG Tech Awards is not only to provide a celebratory platform for green technologies but also to allow the nominees to form a community of cross-sector innovators. It will provide ample opportunities to network with other participants of the event which is always a valuable source of awareness.

The 3rd edition of the SDG Tech Awards is on Wednesday, November 10th, 2021. The venue will be Vandværket, Rabarbervej 2 Copenhagen.

About the SDGs

In 2015 all members of the United Nations adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable development which provides a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for all people and the planet – now and into the future. The main core of this agreement is the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are a shout-out for action by all countries on the planet to come together in a global partnership. That ending poverty and other deprivations must go hand-in-hand with strategies that improve health and education, reduce inequality, and spur economic growth – all while tackling climate change and working to preserve our oceans and forests.
