AidEx held in the shadow of Covid-19

25/11/2021

AidEx 2021 is over for now, and it's time to take stock of the event.

As always in these times, Covid-19 set the agenda for the event, which unfortunately had far fewer exhibitors and visitors than in previous years.

All the Danish exhibitors were gathered in a Danish section - the Danish pavilion, where Viking Wind was in prominent company with Maersk, among others.

Our stand was visited by the NGO organization 'The World Food Programme', which looked at alternative energy sources to keep food and medicine cool.

One of the absolute highlights of AidEx 2021 was the visit on Wednesday by Flemming Møller Mortensen, Minister for Development Cooperation and Minister for Nordic Cooperation. He was invited to participate in a panel debate to discuss how government, NGOs and the EU can better work together to form private-public partnerships that are effective and achieve results.

On Wednesday evening, the Confederation of Danish Industry and the Belgian Embassy hosted a 'get together' reception, which gave participants ample opportunity to meet with like-minded people and form new networks.

But all in all, AidEx 2021 was a success, despite the pandemic, restrictions and lower participant numbers.

An interested and enthusiastic Minister Flemming Møller Mortensen, Minister for Development Cooperation and Minister for Nordic Cooperation, participated in AidEx 2021 on Wednesday
