Smaller group of owners - more energy

7/6/2016

Over the past six months, HSWind has undergone a major transformation. This means a change in ownership, more energy in the form of more capital and a fixed gaze abroad. The transformation leads to the prospect of a breathless future for the Viking wind turbine for private smalls.

In 2009 HSWind started with its first wind turbine for private smalls, the Viking 25kW turbine. The wind turbine received type approval in 2012 and was an immediate success. This led to an expansion of the company's shareholders together with new forces in the form of experienced wind power employees. These actions, together with increased capital, were the path to success for the wind turbine.

Today, HSWind has developed two wind turbines for private smalls, and the rapid development requires new and higher demands on the company in both sales and development. This has led to a reduction in ownership from four to two owners in order to make the company more flexible in the future.

Managing Director Mr. Ulrich Høgenhaven and a major investor from Sønderjylland, the current majority shareholder in HSWind, are now the owners. The restructuring has strengthened the company's equity by converting the bond to share capital and has triggered new and exciting initiatives.

Focus on export

"The biggest change in connection with the change of ownership is the change of focus. We have always focused on offering Danish smalls their own independent energy source and that is still a goal for us. But the priorities of the Danish government have changed and we must therefore take advantage of the opportunities in export," says Managing Director Mr. Ulrich Høgenhaven.

In 2013, HSWind started exporting its wind turbines for private smalls. This led to a development project with three wind turbines for Argentina and turbines for France, as well as an agreement with a French distributor.

The new initiatives cover more countries and more dealers. HSWind already has active dealers in Iceland, Germany and is exploring opportunities for cooperation with similar dealers in Italy, Japan and Turkey, as well as countries in the Middle East and some East African countries.

With the capital infusion and an already established contact with foreign dealers, HSWind looks confidently into the future. And perhaps exciting negotiations are already taking place.
