TV2 Østjylland: Make money on private wind turbines

7/1/2016

A new settlement for surplus production from so-called small wind turbines has been approved, and owning your own wind turbine has now become a good business. TV2 Østjylland reports on the happy news, which will benefit both current and future small wind turbine owners as well as the wind turbine manufacturer, HS Wind.

On Thursday, February 12, TV2 Østjylland broadcast a TV report in the local news. The feature reported on the new settlement price for small turbines' surplus production, which in the future will give turbine owners a good opportunity to get a reasonable return on their investment.

A lengthy exchange of questions and interpretations between the EU Commission and the Danish Energy Agency is finally over and an agreement has been reached. As of February 11, 2015, Viking 25 wind turbine owners can now collect more than double the price for their excess wind turbine electricity production.

The new agreement means that wind turbines with an output of 25kW will be charged DKK 1.50 per kWh that the owner does not use. Managing Director of HS Wind, Ulrich Høgenhaven, is already reporting a busy year and the prospect of growth in production this year.
