Viking Wind becomes ISO 9001 certified
17/11/2022
After a long process, Viking Wind achieved ISO 9001 certification in late October 2022
It is with great pleasure and pride that we can now show all our stakeholders - both Danish and foreign - that we are now covered by the international certification standard ISO 9001. After six months of dedicated internal work within the company, the efforts have paid off, and the ISO 9001 certificate has been issued.
CEO Ulrich Høgenhaven says: " It has long been a great desire at Viking Wind to get an ISO 9001 certification for several reasons; however, the biggest desire was to meet the customer requirements for this certificate, especially from the foreign customers and stakeholders.
He further states: " We have now established the productions that we work according to here in the company. Everyone has put a lot of work into this certificate, and I would like to thank all employees for their hard work.
What is an ISO 9001 certification?
ISO certification indicates that a company has established a quality management system in accordance with one or more ISO standards. For example, ISO 9001, which is used worldwide and deals with quality and effective management and structured dialogue with customers, partners and authorities.
ISO is an international standards body that started in 1947 and is now used by companies and organizations in almost every part of the world.
What does ISO certification mean for you as a customer?
Being certified within a standard is a company's proof that they comply with the requirements set out in a standard.
The goal is for the company to continuously improve its work processes and ensure that they comply with all laws and requirements to which it is obligated. The company is also responsible for staying up to date on what laws affect them and keeping abreast of any changes that are coming.
As a customer, you can expect consistent, structured, and competent case management that is fully compliant with all legal requirements, including international standards.
ISO 9001 and the SDGs
The 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are globally recognised and considered essential to achieving sustainable development. To succeed with the SDGs and achieve the plan, it requires commitment from business, individuals, industry and governments. This is where internationally recognised guidelines, such as the ISO standards, play an essential role, as they are built on consensus and provide a basis for the direction of development. In this way, the standards enable the parties involved to pull in the same direction.
According to ISO - International Organisation for Standardisation, the ISO 9001 standard contributes to the following SDGs: 1,9, 12 and 14. And since Viking Wind fulfils SDGs 7,9, and 13, this is an extra security for those who think in terms of sustainable solutions.
