Viking Wind welcomes a little brother

WS5

Viking Wind is launching a smaller household wind turbine - the German 5 KW WindStream5 turbine from Tandem Wind Energy GmbH (or WS5), which will be part of our product portfolio .

CEO Ulrich Høgenhaven says: "After the war broke out between Russia and Ukraine in 2022 - with energy prices skyrocketing as a result - Viking Wind has seen an increased demand from the Danish market for a smaller turbine type than our own Viking VS.

Windstream5 is a turbine for customers with a smaller energy demand than our Viking VS turbine produces, but who still want to be self-sufficient and free from price fluctuations in the energy market. With cooperation with the German company TWE - Tandem Wind Energy GmbH, we hope to meet this demand in the Danish market."

A flexible and compact German

The WS5 turbine has many characteristics in common with Viking Wind's turbine:

It's a compact turbine in a lightweight design, and like the Viking VS turbine, it's easy to set up, transport and maintain. Like the Viking turbines, it can be remotely monitored and supervised, and it is also possible to use it as an off-grid solution - making it suitable for locations with little or no connection to the energy grid.

At Viking Wind, we are very pleased with the agreement with German TWE and look forward to meeting the demand and covering a much broader market.
