Viking Wind nominated for this year's SDG Tech Award 2021
28/10/2021
Viking Wind has been nominated for this year's SDG Tech award. The nomination is based on on "your impressive innovation of green technologies"
Since Viking wind fulfills 3 of the UN Sustainable Development Goals - 7,9,13, this is a fitting nomination and a very welcome recognition for a small company like ours.
The SDG Tech Awards is an annual celebration of sustainable technologies, start-ups, SMEs and corporations, providing an opportunity to form entities with similar companies across sectors. It is not only an award show that celebrates and provides a platform for green technologies, but also a multi-phase program that allows active members of the community to facilitate the green transition.
So even if you don't win this year's SDG award, there are other benefits to be gained from a nomination.
First and foremost, it's always a great honor to receive a nomination for the Nordic region's largest sustainability award - a counterpart to COP26 at a time when climate change is high on the agenda of every government in the world. And by being the largest award show of its kind in Scandinavia, a nomination will generate goodwill that money can't buy. It will also bring recognition and attention among peers, which is also valuable in the small wind turbine industry, which has been under pressure in recent years.
The goal of the SDG Tech Award is therefore not only to provide a platform to celebrate green technologies, but also to allow nominees to network with peers and offer an opportunity to form new communities across industries.
The 3rd edition of the SDG Tech Award show will take place on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at Vandværket, Rabarbervej 2, Copenhagen

Briefly about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
In 2015, all member states of the UN adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which translated into a plan for peace, prosperity and well-being for all people on earth - for now and for the future. The main component of this agreement is the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, which call for action from all countries of the world to unite in a global partnership. These goals are based on ending poverty and backwardness while improving health and education, reducing inequality and encouraging economic growth - all while tackling climate change and working to preserve the planet's oceans and forests.
