AidEx 2021 in the shadow of Covid-19

AidEx 2021 is over for this year and it is time to have a brief look back at the conference held last week.

The ever-present Covid-19 pandemic was unfortunately again setting the agenda for the event with far fewer participants and exhibitors than previous years.

All The Danish exhibitors were gathered in the ‘Danish section’ – the Pavillion of Denmark and Viking Wind was in prominent company with e.g. Maersk.

An interesting and important panel debate about how to increase the quality of cooperation in order to achieve better results

Among others, Viking Wind had visitors in our booth from ‘The World Food Programme’ looking into alternative energy sources to keep food and medicine cold.

One of the highlights from the exhibition was the visit of the Danish Minister for Development Cooperation and Minister for Nordic Cooperation, Flemming Møller Mortensen who visited the exhibition Wednesday to participate in the panel held in the Danish section. The panel discussed how to improve the interlock between governments, NGO´s and the EU to form private-public partnerships that are effective and get results.

Wednesday evening there was a Danish networking reception and the Danish Embassy to Belgium which gave ample opportunities to mingle and form new alliances with peers.

All in all a successful event although more low-key than earlier years due to the pandemic.
